mind

We have approximately 6,000 thoughts a day, so it’s no wonder that we are often left feeling overwhelmed and confused.

We tend to focus on negative thoughts and convince ourselves that these are facts. This can lead to negative self-talk and reinforce low self-esteem. It makes us feel low, so low that we believe we are not good enough or worthless. Sometimes we can experience suicidal thoughts.

We can learn to engage in healthy habits, cultivating compassion for ourselves and better relationships with others.

"HOW ARE you?"

We regularly find ourselves being asked this, but rarely do we use it as an opportunity to truly reflect on how we feel.

How are you feeling right now? Take a look at the list. Do any of the words help capture your experience?

Whatever you are feeling, it is OK.

Validate your emotions. Remind yourself that, like everything in life, these feelings will eventually pass (even if it doesn’t feel that way right now).

Next time someone asks you how you are, use it as a reminder to check in with how you are feeling.

Practice cultivating this healthy habit.
